Why 21 Days’ Writing Challenge By BookLeaf Publishing Became A Sensation But people place value differently, so this might be just the thing for you. Rope-a-dope is an expression that comes to mind. I must admit, it's hard not to slag this off, solely based on the "award". Only open for US residents, with separate identical "competitions" for UK, AU and Canada -although the company is based in India?Įveryone gets a participation trophy shipped to them. The author gets 100% of profits paid monthly? They do this for exposure and to make money off the actual printing? (which leads me to think that there won't be any profits to speak of as the cost of printing will eat it all up.) They select the "top 30" out of 50 entrants, so 30 titles gets printed, presumably strictly to order. There seems to be no other criteria for selecting the entrants, so the quality of the poetry might be dubious? The lack of any sort of literary criteria coupled with the entrance fee cinches it. The 21 days competition seems to be a way to drum up some extra customers more than anything else. This seems to be a cheap-ish vanity press, based in India. I would suggest doing some due dilligence before signing up. I had a look at the page, and I must say there are some red flags for me here. This might not be a (complete) scam, If it is real and they acutally make the books, good on everyone.
